Voices of Change: American Women Poets Who Have Made a Difference
Benicia Library Dona Benicia Room March 24 – 2-4 PM
Vallejo Poet Laureate Emerita Genea Brice will give a presentation on the African American Poets Maya Angelou and Sonia Sanchez. Benicia Poet Laureate Johanna Ely will give a presentation on the feminist poets Diane DiPrima and Marge Piercy. Vallejo Poet Laureate D.L. Lang give a presentation on Jewish poets, Alicia Ostriker, and Emma Lazarus. In addition, all three will read one original poem of her own. Sponsored by the American Association of University Women.

Poetry Month 2018 at Vallejo’s JFK Library 

April 14th, 2-4 PM in the Joseph Room 505 Santa Clara – Featured poets: Genea Brice, D.L. Lang, Nina Serrano, Doreen Stock, Lisa “Lee Lee” Wiley, and Andrena Zawinski.   Followed by a brief open mic.

Poetry Month Event for Solano County Library Foundation

April 25, 6 – 8 PM at the Solano County Events Center, 601 Texas Street, Fairfield, California. I will be one of the featured poets reading at this event. Fundraiser to benefit literacy programs for the Solano County Library Foundation. Featured poets are Suzanne Bruce, Giovanna Capone, Benicia Poet Laureate – Johanna Ely, Teresa Galarneau, Vallejo Poet Laureate – D.L. Lang, , and Fairfield’s first Poet Laureate – Juanita J Martin

Poetry in Notion – Program Room – JFK Library, Vallejo

I will be leading the Poetry in Notion poetry circle founded by Genea Brice at the JFK library. Poetry in Notion regularly meets 3rd Mondays from 6:30-8PM in the Program Room (Children’s room).

June 3rd, 2018 – Featured Poet at Rosanna’s in Benicia

Every first Sunday from 2-4 PM, Rosanna’s at 305 First Street in Benicia has a featured poet followed by an open mic. I am set to be a feature on June 3rd, 2018.
